We at Grand Dial Communications are proud to support the Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) Robotics Program. We are very actively involved, offering mentoring, program support, team leader trainings, and the creation of the ROBO Battle of the Minds competition – a First Lego League state qualifying tournament that is the home tournament for the GRPS teams and teams throughout the state.
The GRPS First Robotics Program is always in need of mentors, sponsors, and volunteers. This year the district had 8 elementary schools fielding 13 FLL (First Lego League) teams, a significant increase over the 5 teams they hosted last year. The program and student interest is growing faster than their volunteer base. Ideal mentors are individuals who enjoy working with kids and assisting them in learning team building skills, project research skills, and FLL engineering and programming. You can assist or mentor in any area…you don’t need to be a programmer. We are looking for people with a positive, fun-loving, reach-for-the-sky, think-outside-of-the-box attitude.
If you or someone you know would like to volunteer to assist with the GRPS Robotics Program, call us at 616-776-1066 and we will get you connected with someone in the program. Your help will make a huge difference in the lives and future of the students of our city and, therefore, the future of our community.
